Friends of Maplewood Nature Board members have begun a collaborative process with MAP for Nonprofits to build and develop our board, thus enhancing our capacity to fulfill our mission. We are excited to work with MAP representatives and look forward to providing you with updates as the process continues. New board members are always welcome! The Friends group is in the process of updating our logo as well as developing and redesigning our brochure for a fresh new look. If you have any ideas or input you would like to share, send us an email through the link on this site. We would love to hear from you!
As the Friends of Maplewood Nature 2014 Calendar Photo Contest comes to a close, be sure to check back for information on contest results and opportunities to purchase the calendar later this summer!

The Friends of Maplewood Nature Board members are pleased to welcome new board
member, Arturo Leyva. Arturo has previously shared his talents as a volunteer for the nature center and we are excited to have him join the board.
Friends of Maplewood Nature membership renewal letters were sent out to members in January of this year. If you renewed your membership - Thank You! If you have not yet done so but plan to and have misplaced your form, a link to information on membership is located here on this website. If you are not yet a member but are thinking about joining and would like more information, you can contact the nature center at 651-249-2170.

The program is scheduled for March 14th at 7:00 p.m. The program is free but seating is limited so pre-registration is required - contact the nature center at 651-249-2170 to register.
Our photography contest deadline is fast approaching (April 15, 2013). Make sure you take this opportunity to get out to one of the preserves and shoot some beautiful winter photos to submit for consideration in the Friends of Maplewood Nature 2014 calendar. Information about the contest and calendar is listed here on our website.

Join us for an evening of preservation, good food, and great times as we gather to preserve the Fish Creek Natural Area and celebrate all that is Minnesotan. Enjoy naturalist, outdoor author and Minnesota native, Chris Niskanen as he talks about his new book, “The Minnesota Book of Skills,” in which he outlines the true skills all Minnesotans should have! Fill up on a delicious pasta dinner, bid on some great items in the silent auction, and take part in a hands-on Minnesota challenges held throughout the night.
